REQUEST "FOR" OR "AGAINST" ARGUMENTS ON THE SPECIAL BOND ELECTION 

_On Thursday, May 12, 2022 the Union Elementary School District Governing Board adopted a resolution ordering and calling a Special Bond Election for to provide funding for safety, security, efficiency, modernization and to address student growth within the District.  The special bond election will provide the capital funding to ensure the current level of standards adopted by the District to be held on November 8, 2022. The deadline for submitting arguments “for” and “against” the election to the Maricopa County School Superintendent is August 12, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.

“FOR” OR “AGAINST” THE SPECIAL BUDGET OVERRIDE

_On Thursday, May 12, 2022 the Union Elementary School District Governing Board adopted a resolution ordering and calling a Special Budget Override Election for a fifteen percent (15%) maintenance and operation budget override to be held on November 8, 2022. The deadline for submitting arguments “for” and “against” the election to the Maricopa County School Superintendent is August 12, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.

Electronic statements will be accepted and processed by elections personnel with the Office of the Maricopa County School Superintendent. Arguments cannot exceed two hundred words.

A recent change in Arizona statute § 15-481, now requires the following:

  • Statements submitted by an organization must have the signature of two executive officers.
  • Statements submitted by a political committee must have the signature of either the chairman or treasurer of the committee.
  • Statements submitted by an individual must have the signature of the individual and must be notarized.
