Flyer Distribution
The Union Elementary School District welcomes the opportunity to promote family-friendly, community events to our students. These events will align with a set of criteria endorsed by our Governing Board.
**Please note that flyers will not be distributed to school sites the first week or the last week of the school year. You can access the District calendar here.** Please do not print flyers unless approved by the Communications Department.
Minimum Requirements
- Agree that any charges for the instruction/activities will be based on and not exceed the cost of providing the instruction/activities;
- Not use fighting words, obscenities, defamatory speech or encourage disruption of the educational environment;
- Not provide representations or visuals that are inappropriate as described in The Children's Internet Protection Act;
- Remove the material on a date certain not more than one (1) month after it has been displayed/posted/stacked or five (5) days after the activity begins, whichever is earlier;
- Label all material with the name of the sponsoring organization;
- Provide the name, address and telephone number of the local representative for the organization prominently on the promotional material;
- Have an authorized representative of the organization sign the written assurances.
The flyer must include the following disclaimer: "The Union Elementary School District neither endorses nor sponsors the organization or activity represented in this document. The distribution of this material is provided as a community service."
The font size of this required information must be of similar point size of all other copy on flyer.
En Espanol: "El Distrito Escolar Primario Unión ni respalda ni patrocina a la organización o actividad representada en este documento. La distribución de este material se ditribuye como un servicio a la comunidad."
To Receive Approval:
Flyers for distribution to students or counter copies will only be approved for: 1) non-profit organizations with proof of the 501(c)3 status; or 2) city sponsored events.
- The promotional material and assurance form affirming compliance shall be provided to the district communications office at the same time.
- This request must be submitted to the district communications office at least two (2) weeks prior to the requested date(s).
- Flyers may take up to seven (7) business days to receive approval.
- Approval does not guarantee flyer will be distributed to students. The decision is site-based.
- Flyers will not be distributed to school sites the first week or the last week of the school year.
