Dear Union Elementary School District Families and Community,
As we continue to navigate these ever changing times, your Union Elementary School District team is here to help you make informed decisions about your child's education.
As you have seen in previous communication, when it is safe to reopen buildings, Union ESD will be offering two models of learning: In-Person and On-Line. We have created a Back to School Plan for you to read to help you make the best decision for your child. You can view our Back to School Plan here.
We know this is a hard choice; however, to help us plan, we are asking parents to select a nine-week learning option for each child. The initial deadline to select your model is today, July 17, 2020. Please take a few minutes to complete the Commitment Form for Preferred School Option. If you have any questions, your school is ready to answer them. Feel free to contact them for assistance in making the right choice for your child.
- School will start on August 3rd or 4th with a parent teacher conference to help support your family in navigating learning during the year to come.
- August 5-7 instruction will be on-line for all students. These will be half days.
- August 10-14 will continue on-line, regular day schedule.
- In-Person learning will begin August 17th, at the earliest. However, we have been told that Governor Ducey will be making an announcement next week about the August 17th, date. We will notify you if things change after that announcement.
Teachers will be calling each family next week to set up your August 3rd/4th conference. At the conference we will equip your family with tools and information for the upcoming year.
Opening safely will take commitment from each of us to slow the spread of Covid-19. Begin working with your child and model our district-wide PBIS expectations to Be Safe and Be Responsible in helping slow the spread of Covid-19 by wearing a mask, washing your hands, and walking six feet apart.
